Moss Stitch

I have been working on a scarf using moss stitch (k1, p1 cast on with an odd # of stitches) for no one in particular but it turns out we're going to an 80th birthday party this weekend so I'm going to use it as the gift. You can never have enough scarves on hand, I say! They make great gifts and everyone uses them. I doubled up on the yarn because I wanted it to be a bulkier weight. I'll post a final pic once it's finished. I'm still debating whether or not to add tassles. Hmmm...to tassle or not to tassle...

The hat is finished

I finished knitting Aari's hat. It is a little shorter than I would like it to be but I was running out of the leftover yarn so it is what it is! :) She still looks cute in it. I am going to thread some ribbon through the yo (yarn over) holes near the brim and add a flower or pretty bow. I'm thinking purple would go nicely with the yellow. And I'll be darned if I could get her to actually look at the camera while I was taking the shot! Oh well, at least the hat is visible :) Happy knitting, everyone!

A Hat for Aaralyn

I am currently knitting a hat for my daughter, Aaralyn. I created a pattern using a stitch pattern from one of my knitting books called "little shells." I had recently created a hat and cocoon sack for a friend who has a newborn and I had some leftover yarn that I wanted to use up. So, I decided to dabble in creating my own pattern! So far, so good! I will post the full pattern when I'm finished. I want to make sure it works out first.
