A Hat for Aaralyn

I am currently knitting a hat for my daughter, Aaralyn. I created a pattern using a stitch pattern from one of my knitting books called "little shells." I had recently created a hat and cocoon sack for a friend who has a newborn and I had some leftover yarn that I wanted to use up. So, I decided to dabble in creating my own pattern! So far, so good! I will post the full pattern when I'm finished. I want to make sure it works out first.

  1. i love the design! do you have to worry about knitted items shrinking when washed? If so, is there anything that can be done about it?

  2. thank you, Nate. It depends upon the yarn you are using. As long as you follow the care instructions there shouldn't be any issues with shrinking! This particular yarn has to be hand washed and the instructions call for it to lay flat to dry.
